 ‘DEVELOPING NEW TREATMENTS TO IMPROVE MOTIVATION IN PARKINSONS’

‘Apathy, or loss of motivation, is a common non-motor symptom in Parkinson’s. However, we don’t fully understand what causes it, so treatments are limited.’

WHO? 30 people with Parkinson’s who are not taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors. You’ll also need to be able to take Atromoxetine and have an MRI scan.

WHAT? You’ll need to make three visits to the clinic at Cambridge. At your first visit you’ll have an MRI brain scan.In the next 2 visits you’ll be given the research drug (Atomaxetine) or a placebo (dummy drug) and complete activities on a computer.
